  • Primary Uses or Exposures: Used as an intermediate in the synthesis of many industrial chemicals, and has been used as an ingredient in some moth repellants and toilet bowl deodorants.

  • Basis for Nomination: NTP Bioassay (TR-500 and TR-410) reporting clear evidence of carcinogenicity in rats and some evidence of carcinogenicity in mice
  • Current Status: Listed in the RoC as reasonably anticipated to be a human carcinogen since the 11th RoC (2004)
