  • Primary Uses or Exposures: p -Chloro-o-Toluidine and its Hydrochloride Salt are used commercially to produce azo dyes for cotton, silk, acetate, and nylon and as intermediates in the production of Pigment Red 7 and Pigment Yellow 49.

  • Basis for Nomination: IARC1 classification probably carcinogenic to humans based on sufficient evidence of carcinogenicity in experimental animals
  • Current Status: Listed in the RoC as reasonably anticipated to be a human carcinogen since the 8th RoC (1998)
