Investigators will be given opportunities to learn from and interact with senior researchers and NIH staff. Space is limited, so participants will be selected in the order that they apply. In advance of the workshop, individuals who want to participate must submit a 1-page proposal outlining their healthcare-based disparities research aims, hypotheses, and methods, and 1-3 specific research or grant writing questions. These submissions are due Friday, May 30, 2008, and should be sent to Ms. Amy Amerson at aamerson@scgcorp.com. These research summaries will be used to facilitate learning and to provide feedback to enhance the quality of future grant submissions. The faculty will include experts from the NIH on the grants writing process and individuals with successful grant writing and grants review expertise. The workshop will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on July 1, 2008. Pre-registration is required for those interested in attending the Grant Writing Workshop as space is limited.
