Goals and objectives of Meeting:

The objective of this meeting is to describe exciting advances in a rapidly moving area of translational medicine. The symposium will explore the following themes: new insights into the structure and function of biological molecules important for iron biology; the cellular pathways that determine iron dynamics; the fundamental chemistry of iron itself and implications for chelator development; strategies to measure body iron stores; and finally the application of this growing body of basic knowledge to disease states.
