    • Overview
Create charts and graphs interactively by selecting from lists of variables. View values associated with a chart or graph by moving cursor over bar (chart) or marker (graph). "Drill down" from state to state economic area (SEA) or county (chart) or view values for U.S., state, and SEA, simultaneously.

    • 5-year rates over time
View graphs of 5-year mortality rates per 100,000 person-years (1950-94 for whites and 1970-94 for blacks). Move cursor over marker to view data. View US rates only, US vs. state rates, or US vs. state vs. SEA rates.

    • Rates by cancer
View mortality rates per 100,000 person-years and confidence intervals by geographic region, age group, race, gender, and time period. Sort rates numerically or alphabetically by geographic region. Move cursor over bar to view data or "drill down" from state to SEA or county.

    • Rates by state (bars)
View mortality rates per 100,000 person-years for the various cancers for the entire US and state-by-state by geographic region, age group, race, gender, and time period. Move cursor over bar to view data or "drill down" from state to SEA or county.

    • Rates by state (confidence intervals)
View mortality rates (and confidence intervals) per 100,000 person-years for the various cancers for the entire US and state-by-state by geographic region, age group, race, gender, and time period. Move cursor over bar to view data or "drill down" from state to SEA or county.

    • Available file formats
Charts and graphs are available in several formats:
      • Flash (default) - animated graphics format that permits the display of data "behind" a bar or graph when the cursor is moved over the bar or marker on the graph. "Drilldown" from state to SEA or county is also permissible under this format. Requires free plug-in from Macromedia, Inc.
      • GIF - graphics format with copy/paste capabilities
      • SVG - animated graphics format that permits the display of data "behind" a bar or graph when the cursor is moved over the bar or marker on the graph. This file format also has copy/paste capabilities. Requires free viewer from Adobe.
