Position Description: A position is open in the Leukemogenesis Section, Laboratory of Cellular Oncology, Center for Cancer Research, NCI. The research centers on questions related to acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) and how these diseases represent a dysregulation of normal myeloid cell development. One focus has been the identification of new oncogenic regions of the genome using retroviral insertional mutagenesis. The research project will involve the development of animal models to test the oncogenicity of genetic regions targeted by the mutagenetic screen. The project will involve development of vectors, performing assays for hematopoietic progenitor cells, and differentiation of fetal liver cells.
Experience Required: Applicants should have or be close to obtaining a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree. Expertise in molecular biology and hematopoiesis is desirable.

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
