New Booker T. Washington biography to premiere in Tuskegee, Alabama

The National Park Service, Tuskegee University and the city of Tuskegee are pleased to host the initial release of the book, Up From History: The Life of Booker T. Faith Week encompasses MLK observance, focuses on global awareness

The University's annual Faith Week will be held Jan. 18-25. The theme for this year is "Faith and Our Global Citizenship." A number of lectures and activities to be held will be devoted to the intellectual and moral understandings of religion and spiritual insights, while featuring some of the world's leading theologians and voices of inspiration. All events are open to the public.

Student, faculty portraits to be taken for 2008-2009 yearbook

Portraits for the 2008-2009 Tuskeana yearbook will be taken Jan. 13-15 in the Tompkins Hall (Student Union) Ballroom. Administrators, faculty, staff and students are encouraged to participate. The photographer will be available Tuesday 10 a.m. - 7 p.m., Wednesday, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Thursday 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. "Walk-ins" are only accepted Tuesday and Wednesday. There is no fee for this service.

Library exhibition highlights Booker T. Washington, Obama

During the U.S. Presidential Inaugural week of Jan.  20-23, the Tuskegee University Ford Motor Company Library will hold an exhibition entitled, "Washington and Obama: Two Proclaimed Voices of Change and Hope." The exhibition will consist of course work created by first-year students enrolled in UNIVERSITY 101 classes. Marching Crimson Pipers set to make sixth appearance in Battle of the Bands

The Marching Crimson Piper Band made the cut for the seventh annual Honda Battle of the Bands Invitational Showcase. The high-stepping, energetic ensemble will perform Saturday, Jan. 24, at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. The Tuskegee band and nine other Historically Black Colleges and Universities' bands were chosen through a combination of online voting by fans and a selection process involving HBCU band directors and university presidents.
