Key Functions
- Conducts peer review for applications and proposals that address NIAID-specific needs, i.e., research project (R01), program projects (Ps), cooperative agreements (Us), research career awards (Ks), institutional training grants (Ts), conference grants (R13s), and contracts (N01s) in response to NIAID-initiated RFAs, PAs, and RFPs.
- Conducts review meetings for three chartered review committees and special emphasis panels.
- Does initiative phasing for scientific peer review.
- Performs quality control from the scientific peer review perspective for funding opportunity announcements.
- Serves as program division's liaison for the design, development, and review of NIAID initiatives.
- Formulates and guides peer review strategies for new or unusual requirements.
- Coordinates review activities with Committee Management Office, DEA.
- Conducts grantsmanship seminars for applicants.
