BATON ROUGE, La . -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Louisiana Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness announced the closing of the Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Lafayette Parish at Harvest Church International, 111 Liberty Ave. , Lafayette , La.
The DRC will close on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006. Disaster victims still in need of assistance can visit any open DRC in the state. The DRC in Vermilion Parish is located at:

Hurricane victims may still register for assistance or follow up on their individual cases by calling, 1-800-621-FEMA (3362 ). Hearing or speech-impaired individuals may register by calling 1-800-462-7585 (TTY). After registering, individuals with questions may meet face-to-face with recovery specialists at any DRC. Online registration is also available at www.fema.gov . (The deadline for applications for both Katrina and Rita victims has been extended to March 11, 2006.)
DRC's are open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
