HIF Working Group
Mission Statement
The HIF interest group provides a forum for presentation and discussion of all aspects of research related to HIF (hypoxia inducible factor), hypoxia, and the HIF pathways, especially those related to cancer. The HIF IG is designed to facilitate communication among CCR and other NCI researchers, and those throughout the NIH and extramural communities. Areas of interest include the impact of hypoxia on disease progression, especially as related to cancer; the identification and development of modulators of HIF and its pathways as therapeutic interventions; and furthering our understanding of the roles HIF and hypoxia play under normal or non-disease conditions. Our initial focus has been a monthly discussion of the ongoing research related to HIF within the CCR, however, ultimately we would like to expand our membership and contacts and to develop collaborations with researchers working on HIF outside the world of cancer. We are also interested in partnering with other interest and working groups and faculties to facilitate collaborations and other productive interactions.

How To Join
NCI intramual principal investigators may join any of the Faculties/Working in which they wish to participate. The HIF Interest Group also invites senior scientists/clinicians, staff scientists/clinicians, and postdoctoral fellows, to participate. Membership is also open to NCI extramural science administrators.

To request membership in this or any NCI Intramural Program, please visit and fill out the Request for Membership Form.
