H.R. 4779—The Clinical Research Act of 2004

On July 8, 2004, Representative Dave Weldon (R-FL) introduced H.R. 4779, the Clinical Research Act of 2004. The bill would authorize NIH to award clinical research support grants and clinical research infrastructure grants to Academic Health Centers (AHCs). The legislation would also authorize the Secretary of HHS to award grants for a demonstration program for research partnerships between AHCs and the practicing health care community. H.R. 4779 was referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.
