More Disaster Recovery Centers To Open-Two To Close

Houston, TX -- Additional State and Federal Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC), where people affected by flooding in June may obtain information about state and federal disaster assistance, will be opening on Thursday, July 5.

The Disaster Recovery Centers listed below will close on July 6.

Until further notice, all centers in operation will remain open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. to assist those affected by Tropical Storm Allison. All centers are closed on Sundays.

Individuals who have already applied for disaster assistance by calling the toll-free application number 1-800-462-9029 (1-800-462-7585 for speech- and hearing-impaired) may visit any of the Disaster Recovery Centers. At the centers, they will be able to talk face-to-face with representatives from local, state and federal agencies, as well as voluntary agencies.

They can receive information on assistance programs and Small Business Administration (SBA) loan applications. Information about voluntary agencies, including those that offer additional assistance, is also available.
