Baton Rouge, LA -- Approved loans for the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) total $1,146,500 as of today, Saturday, October 12, 2002 for damages from Tropical Storm Isidore and Hurricane Lili.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) remains on the job through the Columbus Day weekend, helping communities across the country respond to and recover from disasters of all types.

In accordance with changes required by law, FEMA is conducting an upgrade of its computer software programs from October 11 through October 14, 2002. During this time, some of FEMA's computer-assisted services will be temporarily suspended. However, the needs of disaster victims are still being addressed -- applications for assistance will still be taken and inspections will still be conducted.
