OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- Individuals affected by the May 3-5 tornadoes, severe storms and flooding can get timely disaster recovery information and answers to important questions regarding disaster recovery and prevention from toll-free telephone numbers.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) teleregistration number is operating now and is for disaster victims to apply for state and federal disaster recovery assistance. Effective May 16, the hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., (CT) seven days a week until further notice.

The FEMA Helpline is specifically for those who have already applied for disaster assistance and may have questions about the status of their application. The Helpline also is operating now. Effective May 16, it will be staffed from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week until further notice.
