Disaster Recovery Center in DeKalb to Be Closed For Memorial Day

TEXARAKANA, Texas -- The Disaster Recovery Center at the DeKalb Middle School will be closed on Memorial Day, Monday, May 31. The Center provides information and assistance to individuals and businesses in Bowie, Red River, and Titus counties that suffered damages from the May 4 tornadoes.

"Our disaster assistance staff will join local residents in pausing to reflect on this important national holiday," said Ed Laundy, State Coordinating Officer. The center will resume it's 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. schedule on Tuesday morning. The center is closed on Sundays.

Anyone who has not yet registered for assistance and who had damages or losses as a result of the tornadoes is urged to call FEMA teleregistration at 1-800-462-9029 (TTY 1-800-462-7585) from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. CDT daily.
