Question: I found my topic on MedlinePlus, but I really needed treatment information and there wasn't any listed. Where should I look now?

Answer:

  • If there is no information under "Treatment" on your topic, check the links under "Disease Management" or "Rehabilitation/Recovery," or check the "Overviews" links, which may contain treatment information.

  • Check the information in the Medical Encyclopedia or in the Drug Information page.

    • A link to the Medical Encyclopedia is available from the Health Topics page; you will find a link back to the Health Topics page just below the header of every MedlinePlus page.

    • A link to the Drug Information page is also available just below the header of every MedlinePlus page.

  • If information is not available for your topic under these subcategories try a MEDLINE/PubMed search.

    • Follow the link to MEDLINE/PubMed from the Other Resources page; you will find a link back to the Other Resources page just below the header of every MedlinePlus page.

  • In the text box type the name of your topic AND therapy, for example:

    • Lyme Disease AND therapy
