ResourceLink has been developed to assist consumers in locating genetic counseling services and for students curious about the profession. Genetic Counselors can be searched by State, City, Counselor's Name, Institution or Areas of Practice or Specialization. We hope you find this service helpful.

Information on Services of Genetic Counselors

• Different patient services that each counselor serves are listed under the counselor's name. Definition of services
• Most counselors will perform a brief intake to determine whether or not an appointment for a genetic consultation would be of benefit to you. Longer consultations by phone are usually not possible. A scheduled appointment would be necessary to discuss your concerns.
• Each center varies with regard to referral requirements, payment methods, and services.

1. Scroll down to the middle of the page and click Find a Counselor by Name, Area of Practice, or Area of Specialization (Advanced Search)
2. Once there select ONLY the State/Prov in which you are trying to locate a counselor from the drop down box.
3. Click Submit.
4. Once the results are found scroll through the names and look through locations near you, their specialization, and institution they work for.
5. Contact Counselor by phone or e-mail!
6. The website search tool is sensitive to limitations and specifications. Leaving the search broad is the most effective way to receive results.
7. Note: Some Genetic Counselors provide genetic counseling services over the phone or the internet. To locate these members, select "Internet" or "Telephone Counseling" from the "Areas of Specialization" drop down menu.
