ALEXANDER RECEIVES APPOINTMENT TO HOUSE APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE
It was confirmed this morning that U.S. Representative Rodney Alexander (R-Quitman) received an appointment to the powerful House Appropriations Committee. Alexander, who was reelected with an overwhelming majority back in November, will be in a better position to help fund projects in both the congressional district he represents, as well as the entire state of Louisiana.
" This committee assignment will enable me to directly address the funding concerns of major projects in the 5th Congressional District, " Alexander said.
Alexander added "for the past two years, I have worked hard to stress to the Appropriations Committee the importance of funding projects in Louisiana. Now, as a member of the Committee, I will be in a much better position to see to it that Louisiana projects receive funding."
Alexander's committee assignment will further enhance much of the infrastructure work he began as a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
The committee will be chaired by veteran U.S. Rep. Jerry Lewis of California.
Alexander previously served on the House Armed Services, Agriculture, and Transportation and Infrastructure Committees.
