ALEXANDER ANNOUNCES FOUR SUMMER INTERNS ALL FOUR STUDENTS ARE FROM LOUISIANA

WASHINGTON -- U.S. Rep. Rodney Alexander, R-Quitman today announced that four Louisiana residents will serve as interns in his Washington, D.C. office.

This summer, Mary Margaret Alwood, Elizabeth Hammett, Chad Hughes and Ryan Zumo will live and work in Washington, D.C.

Mary Margaret Alwood, daughter of Richard and Shelia Alwood of Ferriday, is a senior at LSU majoring in marketing.

Elizabeth Hammett, daughter of state Rep. Bryant Hammett and Susan Hammett of Ferriday, is a senior finance major at LSU.

Chad Hughes, son of Ben and Cathy Melanson of Baton Rouge, and Chris and Michelle Hughes of Dallas, is a senior business administration major at LSU.

Ryan Zumo, son of Tony and Monica Zumo of Baton Rouge, is a senior majoring in pre-law at LSU.

All four students will be responsible for congressional research, conducting Capitol tours, and assisting constituent and Louisiana residents.

"This will be a great experience for all four students," Alexander added.

"They will have the opportunity to see how government works and actually take part in the process."
