ALEXANDER, VITTER ANNOUNCE $661,333 GRANT FOR LINCOLN PARISH I-20 CORRIDOR PROJECT FUNDING TO BENEFIT RUSTON, GRAMBLING AREA

Washington D.C. - U.S. Rep. Rodney Alexander, R-Quitman, and U.S. Sen. David Vitter, R-Louisiana, today announced that a $661,333 grant has been secured for the Lincoln Parish I-20 Corridor, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation.

This grant funding will help Lincoln Parish's I-20 Transportation Corridor Program, which has been designed as a single, unified program serving the entire parish, along with the Cities of Ruston and Grambling.

"This grant will benefit North Louisiana in a tremendous way," Alexander said.

"As I have said all along, one way to benefit our state's economy is to invest in infrastructure projects. Studies have shown that for every billion spent on infrastructure projects, nearly 50,000 jobs are created. As long as I continue to serve in Congress, I will continue to work with members of Louisiana's delegation to help bring needed funding to all areas of the state. I'm pleased to work closely with Senator Vitter and plan to secure every federal dollar possible for Louisiana. Lincoln Parish has tremendous potential with two universities located there -- Louisiana Tech and Grambling State -- and infrastructure funding is vital to this area's future economic growth."

Vitter added, "I am pleased that the U.S. Department of Transportation made this federal money available to Lincoln Parish. This grant will help improve I-20 and strengthen the infrastructure of Ruston, Grambling and Lincoln Parish."
