Genetic Epidemiology Branch

Other Training Opportunities

Genetic Epidemiology Branch senior staff serve as primary research mentors for postdoctoral fellows accepted into the branch's regular fellowship program. In addition, GEB senior staff participate in the training of fellows who are interested in research in cancer genetics and genetic epidemiology but who are based in a variety of other fellowship programs within the NIH.

In recent years, GEB staff have mentored both pre- and postdoctoral fellows from several NCI programs: Cancer Prevention Fellowship Program in the Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences, medical and pediatric oncology fellows in the Center for Cancer Research (CCR), and laboratory fellows from the CCR. In addition, the Branch offers research training to pre-doctoral fellows enrolled in the Clinical Research Training Program, or Graduate Partnerships Program, NIH, or who are sponsored by the Howard Hughes Medical Research Institute. Trainees who are currently enrolled in an NIH training program may contact Dr. Phil Taylor (telephone 301-594-2932, email: ptaylor@mail.nih.gov) for further information about mentored research projects in GEB.
