Apply to Lead a Clinical Trials Unit for NIAID's HIV/AIDS Networks
NIAID is seeking talented investigators in the U.S. and overseas to become part of the Institute's revamped HIV/AIDS Clinical Trials Networks. After issuing a request for applications for the network leadership, we're now looking for investigators to apply to join one of the new networks as a principal investigator for a clinical trials unit (CTU).
Led by a PI, each CTU will carry out the research agendas of the networks. Each will comprise an administrative component, a clinical research site or sites, and a community advisory board. We're especially interested in funding CTUs that reach populations most affected or threatened by the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the U.S. and abroad. For details, go to the Units for HIV/AIDS Clinical Trials Networks RFA.
Released in November 2004, the Leadership for HIV/AIDS Networks RFA will build the foundation for the networks, focusing on developing and evaluating treatments, prevention strategies, and vaccines globally.
Our Division of AIDS is holding four pre-application meetings to provide an overview of application requirements, procedures, and the review process as well as to help prospective applicants with grant writing. After the meeting in Miami this week on March 17 to 18, two international meetings remain: one in Johannesburg, South Africa, March 31 to April 1, and one in Bangkok, Thailand, April 20 to 21.
Find agendas, registration, and other information about the pre-appplication meetings at CTU RFA Pre-Application Meetings. View slide presentations on Pre-Application Meetings -- videocasts and questions and answers from earlier meetings are coming soon. You can also go to Division of AIDS (DAIDS) Clinical Trials Network FY 2006 for a link to the RFA and other pertinent information, including instructions for submitting an application and suggested tables and forms. |
