Extraordinary Opportunities for Early Cancer Detection and Risk Assessment Research
Demonstration Projects
The objective of the CBRG is to promote molecular detection practices, such as sputum cytology and Pap tests, once they are proven. The initiative is targeted for those organ systems where less invasive examining procedures are available, e.g. stereo-tactic biopsy and nipple aspirates for breast, pap for cervical, fluorescence bronchoscopy, sputum cytology and bronchio-alvelolar lavage for lung, colonic washes for colon, and bladder washing for the bladder. These projects will facilitate translational research by developing inexpensive, rapid throughput, reliable tests that are acceptable to patients and easily administered by clinicians.
