Mobile Telephone Banks Located In Disaster Area

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Four mobile telephone bank units are now open in two of the hardest hit areas left behind by Hurricane Charley. These free phone call units, with up to 60 phones each, are for anyone needing to register for federal and state disaster assistance. Two units are in Punta Gordo and two units are in Port Charlotte. All are open 24 hours a day.

In order to avoid delays, disaster recovery officials urge applicants to register for assistance by calling 800-621-FEMA (3362) for losses from Hurricane Charley before they go to a Disaster Recovery Center. People with hearing or speech impairments may call (TTY) 800-462-7585.
