Tupelo, MS -- Due to the large number of requests for information regarding construction of storm-resistant "Safe Rooms," arrangements have been made with The Home Depot, 1074 Cross Creek Drive, in Tupelo, to construct a model safe room for public display. To date, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) have received hundreds of inquiries relating to safe room construction.

Home Depot employees will begin construction Sunday, March 18, of the in-store model.

The public is invited to visit the store Monday through Sunday, March 19 - 25, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., to see first-hand, the construction of a safe room. Safe room rebuilding specialists from FEMA will be available to answer questions and distribute safe room information.

An in-store building contractor's breakfast is scheduled for March 21, 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., to discuss safe room construction.
