The Virology Interest Group is comprised of researchers at NIH and in the local area who are interested in Virology. The group organizes activities designed to promote interactions and exchange of information. The Interest Group has a Seminar Series (see Meetings) that meets at noon on the first Thursday of each month in Building 4, Room 433 (4th floor conference room) on the NIH campus. This is organized by Fellows: Gaelle Kolb and Christiane Jost (see Members). Potential speakers should contact Drs Kolb and Jost. The Virology Interest Group sponsors the Norman P. Salzman Memorial Award and Symposium in November of each year. The Symposium is held in conjunction with the presentation of the Annual Norman P. Salzman Memorial Award, which recognizes outstanding accomplishments by a post-doctoral fellow or research trainee at NIH working in the field of virology. Next year's Award and Symposium, the tenth anniversary, will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2008 in Natcher. For more details about the Salzman Symposium and Memorial Award, see the Special Items and Meetings Pages.
