End of Life Interest Group

End of Life Interest Group

The purpose of this Interest Group is two-fold:

1) To provide a means for DHHS agencies interested in end-of-life research to coordinate planning activities. For example, the interest group sponsored a panel discussion and open forum to discuss the clinical implications of the PBS series "On Our Own Terms". Another event was a workshop where clinicians and researchers discussed the state of the science and future research directions for end of life in older populations.

2) To provide a means for communicating these DHHS activities to the broader community who is interested in end-of-life research. This website is one way we communicate. The other is through a list-serv where targeted announcements such as notices of conferences & workshops, new funding initiatives, etc. will be posted.

NINR, NIA, AHRQ, NCCAM, NCI and SAMHSA, HRSA have played an active role in the interest group and are cosponsoring this program. Membership is limited to DHHS staff. If you work for an DHHS agency and want to join the interest group please click on "Join the SIG" above.
