NIH Knowledge Management Interest Group
Fernwood Building Location and Directions

The NIH Knowledge Management Interest Group's meetings are held at 10401 Fernwood Road in Conference Room 3D12. The building is located in North Bethesda at the intersection of Rockledge Drive and Fernwood Road. Visitor parking is available in close proximity to the building.

Driving directions from the NIH campus

1. Take Old Georgetown Road north towards Cedar Lane and the Beltway (this is a right turn if exiting the campus via the Lincoln Drive and Center Drive exits on Old Georgetown).
2. Follow Old Georgetown to Democracy Boulevard (approximately 1.75 miles). Go left on Democracy.
3. Follow Democracy to Fernwood Road (approximately one-half mile). Go right.
4. Follow Fernwood to Rock Spring Drive (approximately one-quarter mile). Go straight through the light at Rock Spring and take an immediate right into the parking lot entranceway.
5. Follow signs to visitor parking.

Shuttle Information from NIH Campus

The Fernwood Building is on the NIH Shuttle Service's Rockledge Route (Green Line). The 6700B/Fernwood stop is located in front of 6700B Rockledge Drive. Upon exiting the shuttle turn around (so your back is to 6700B). 10401 Fernwood Road is in front of you to the left (the building with the green windows and the ramp).

Entering Fernwood Building and locating Conference Room 3D12

Handicap-accessible ramps are available on both sides of 10401 Fernwood Road. Follow them up to the entrances. Upon entering, you will be on the second floor of the building. Stairs are located at either end of the lobby and the elevator is in the middle.

Take stairs or elevator to the third floor (up one level). The main CIT entrance is in the center of the building (next to the elevator). You will need to show valid identification.

Walk past the reception desk and you will be in a very long hallway. Go left. Conference Room 3D12 is on your left about ten paces down the hall (behind the frosted glass).
