| DNA Repair-Interstrand Crosslinks: The National Institute on Aging (NIA), a major research component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), is recruiting for a postdoctoral position in The Section on Gene Targeting, Laboratory of Molecular Gerontology. We are studying the repair of interstrand DNA crosslinks. We have developed a gene targeting technology and are delineating the genetics of repair and mutagenesis of targeted psoralen crosslinks (J. Biol. Chem. 278, 11072). We have also developed an immunofluorescence approach for monitoring the recruitment of repair proteins at laser localized crosslinks (Bioconjugate Chem, 18: 431). | |
| A postdoctoral position is available for an individual with training in cell and molecular biology, and an interest in DNA repair and genomic instability. The successful candidate will work closely with chemists and molecular biologists on the role of replication in repair of targeted and localized crosslinks. Interested candidates must have a Ph.D. or M.D. with less than five years of postdoctoral experience. Salary is commensurate with experience and accomplishments. | |
