Unit on Cellular Communication

This unit focuses on molecular mechanisms that regulate cell-cell communication during development. We utilize the Drosophila model system to study signaling by TGF-β growth and differentiation factors. Our goal is to provide a molecular description of how TGF-β signaling is modulated outside the cell and how it has been adapted for different roles during development and evolution.
