Free Week-long Workshop for Young Minority Scientists When: February 59, 2006 Where: NIH Campus, Bethesda, MD Institute: National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Young scientists are encouraged to apply for Intramural NIAID Research Opportunities (INRO), a free 5-day program to be held in early February 2006. Designed for students from populations underrepresented in science, INRO brings together students from across the country who are considering a career in biomedical research in the areas of allergy, immunology, or infectious diseases.
Students selected to attend INRO 2006 will: - Learn about NIAID and about training opportunities available.
- Listen to scientific lectures by world-renowned NIAID researchers.
- Tour Institute laboratories.
- Interview with principal investigators for a potential year-long training position at NIAID.
NIAID continues its commitment to the support of young scientists through this program, which will pay all expenses for travel, hotel accommodations, and meals. Eligible students include U.S. citizens or legal U.S. residents from a minority population underrepresented in the sciences. Undergraduate juniors and seniors, doctoral candidates, and first-year medical students with strong academic standing are encouraged to apply. The deadline for applications is October 15, 2005.
