America’s Five-Year Hearing Check-up: How We Fared

In January 2000, Healthy Hearing 2010 was initiated to help reduce problems caused by hearing loss in Americans. In October 2004—nearly five years after the program's start—we have received our first report card.

The Summer 2005 issue of Inside, NIDCD’s online newsletter, discusses the progress report for Healthy Hearing 2010, a national initiative to improve the hearing of all Americans through prevention, early detection, treatment, and rehabilitation. The issue also includes notes on NIDCD's clinical trials, research advances, publications, and events. Inside has a bright new design, and is written for health professionals and the public.
