President Bush Signs Recess Appointment of Michael Bartlett
President Bush Signed the Recess Appointment of Bartlett to be a Member of the National Labor Relations Board

President George W. Bush today signed the recess appointment of Michael J. Bartlett, to be a Member of the National Labor Relations Board.

Mr. Bartlett is currently the Director of Labor Law Policy at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, a position he has held since 1998.  From 1987 to 1995, he was a Partner and Special Counsel with Verner, Liipfert, Bernhard, McPherson & Hand in Washington, DC, following two years as Vice President for Employee Relations and Labor Counsel for Eastern Airlines.  He was a partner with Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart from 1980 to 1986, following six years with Vedder, Price, Kaufman, Kammholz & Day.  Bartlett was an Attorney in the Office of General Counsel for the National Labor Relations Board from 1969 to 1971.  He has a BA from Amherst College and a JD from the University of Virginia.
