Abstract

The apparel market plays a major role in the global economy. However, each step of the clothing life cycle generates potential environmental and occupational health hazards, from the growing of the fiber crops to the disposal of used clothing. A nascent movement in the fashion industry is taking steps to make clothing more sustainable.
