H. R. 5808 —The Women’s Health and Disease Prevention Act

On April 15, 2008, Representative Louise Slaughter (D-NY) introduced H.R. 5808, the Women’s Health and Disease Prevention Act. H.R. 5808 would require the Director of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), in consultation with the Director of the Office of Research on Women’s Health, to establish multidisciplinary research centers to conduct research on environmental factors that may be related to the development of women’s health conditions. H.R. 5808 was referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.
