S. 3708—The FY2007 Labor, HHS, Education Appropriations Bill

On July 20, 2006, the Senate Committee on Appropriations marked up and reported out the FY2007 Labor, HHS, Education Appropriations bill, S. 3708, without change to the Subcommittee reported version, which was marked up on July 18. The bill includes $28,550,667,000 for the NIH. This amount is $220,820,000 above the fiscal year 2006 appropriation and $200,664,000 over the budget request, excluding the Global HIV/AIDS Fund Transfer. The Senate bill is not expected to reach the Senate floor until after the November elections.
