S. 589—The Faster FOIA Act of 2005

On March 10, 2005, Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) introduced S. 589, the Faster FOIA Act of 2005.  The bill would establish the Commission on Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Processing Delays to study methods to help reduce delays in processing FOIA requests.  S. 589 was referred to the Senate Committee on the Judiciary.

COMMITTEE/SUBCOMMITTEE ACTION

March 17, 2005 - The Senate Committee on the Judiciary reported S. 589 without amendment.
