S. 1181—NO TITLE

On June 7, Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) introduced S. 1181. The bill would require that any legislation establishing exemptions to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) clearly state that fact in the text of the measure.

COMMITTEE/SUBCOMMITTEE MARKUPS

On June 9, the Senate Committee on the Judiciary approved S. 1181 by voice vote and order the bill to be reported.

FLOOR ACTION

On June 24, the Senate passed, by unanimous consent, S. 1181, which would require that any legislation establishing exemptions to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to clearly state that fact in the text of the measure.
