Cancer Disparities Research Partnership
(CDRP)
Program
Evaluation
The
Challenge
The unequal burden of cancer in our society is more than a scientific
and medical challenge. It is a moral and ethical dilemma for our
Nation. Certain populations experience significant disparities
in cancer incidence, the care they receive, and the outcomes of
their disease. These differences have been recognized, or at least
suspected for some time. Now they are being documented with increasing
frequency and clarity. http://cancer.gov/pdf/nci_2005_plan
The
Purpose of the Evaluation Tool
This tool has been developed for the evaluation
of the CDRP program. It allows the National Cancer Institutes
(NCI) Radiation Research Program (RRP) to review the overall progress
of the CDRP program. This tool will assist the Radiation Research
Program in determining the need for additional funding to a) continue
the funding at the sites awarded in 2002 and 2003 and/or b) fund
additional sites.
