H.R. 2762—A Bill to Amend the PHS Act to Reauthorize the Two Special Diabetes Programs for Type I Diabetes and Indians

On June 18, 2007, Representative Diana Degette (D-CO) introduced H.R. 2762, a bill to amend the PHS Act to reauthorize the two special diabetes programs for Type I diabetes and Indians. H.R. 2762 would reauthorize the Special Diabetes Program for Indians for FYs 2009 through 2013 at a level of $200 million per year, as well as provide $200 million for the Type I Diabetes program over the same time period. H.R. 2762 was referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. The Senate companion bill, S. 1494 was introduced by Senator Pete Domenici on May 24.
