Please feel free to use the examples below, developed for the Antihypertensive and Lipid-Lowering Treatment to Prevent Heart Attack Trial (ALLHAT) and the Women's Health Initiative, to get ideas for use in your own recruitment materials.

If you are a patient or member of the public and are interested in participating in an ongoing clinical study, please visit ClinicalTrials.gov to identify studies that currently are recruiting patients.

Note: The NIH ClinicalTrials.gov Web site also includes information that may be of interest to prospective trial participants. In particular, the Understanding Clinical Trials section includes answers to such questions as:
  • What is a clinical trial?
  • What are clinical trial phases?
  • What protections are there for people who participate in clinical trials?
  • What is informed consent?
  • Who can participate in a clinical trial?
It also links to the CDC's brochure Taking Part in Research Studies: What Questions Should You Ask? and the FDA's Web page titled Why Volunteer? Clinical Trials of Medical Treatments.
