Abstract: This paper estimates doses for the populations of the Republic of Kazakhstan that resided in the vicinity of the Semipalatinsk test site during the time nuclear tests were conducted in the atmosphere. The methodology uses radiation measurement data and environmental transfer models. Estimates are developed and presented for the main villages for external doses and internal thyroid doses, for a resident born in 1930 and one born in 1948.
