About CCR – Office of the Director

Robert H. Wiltrout, PhD, directs the Center for Cancer Research (CCR).  Dr. Wiltrout is responsible for scientific planning and decision-making within the CCR and reports to Dr. John E. Niederhuber, who is the Director of the National Cancer Institute (NCI).  Dr. Wiltrout also serves as Scientific Director for Basic Research.  In this capacity, Dr. Wiltrout works closely with Dr. Lee Helman, Scientific Director for Clinical Research to develop new programs that focus on translating scientific knowledge into novel prevention, diagnosis, and treatment options for cancer patients.

CCR’s senior management team also includes the NCI Clinical Director, and five deputy directors from the CCR Office of the Director (OD) and our research laboratories and clinical branches.  A complete list of CCR’s senior management team, offices, and staff is shown below. 

There are two management offices:  CCR’s main office is located in Building 31, Room 3A11 on the NIH campus in Bethesda, MD.  A second office is located on the NCI-Frederick campus, which is within the Fort Detrick Army Garrison in Frederick, MD.  Please contact one of these offices for additional information.
