A new Alcohol Alert from NIAAA summarizes research findings and their practical implications for women of all ages. Considering that about one-third of American women report regular alcohol consumption and 2.5 million women (or 2.3 percent) meet the criteria for alcohol dependence, it is critical to conduct research and seek a better understanding of how alcohol effects women.
