Genetic Variation in Participation Rates
Evaluation of non-response bias in genetic epidemiology studies
Investigators analyzed genetic variants frequencies among control groups from three DCEG studies with different recruitment designs that included early, late, and never questionnaire responders, one or more participation incentives and blood or buccal DNA collection. Genotypes, haplotypes, and short tandem repeats were evaluated by respondent type among 2,955 individuals. There was little evidence to suggest that genotype differs according to response characteristics.
