S. 3534—The Vision Preservation Act of 2007

On September 22, 2008, Senator Christopher Dodd (D-CT) introduced S. 3534, the Vision Preservation Act of 2007, to provide for the expansion of Federal programs to prevent and manage vision loss. Provisions of the bill would require that the Secretary of HHS, acting through CDC, HRSA, and NIH, expand and intensify programs to increase awareness of vision problems. S. 3534 is the companion measure to H.R. 3750, introduced by Representative Gene Green (D-TX) on October 4, 2007. S. 3534 was referred to the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP).
