About Research Training and Career Development: Overview
On this page:
Introduction
NCCAM is committed to providing funding for high quality research training and career development opportunities. NCCAM's overall goals are to increase the number, quality, and diversity of CAM researchers.
We will provide awards to
- Predoctoral and postdoctoral students who are interested in pursuing a career in CAM research.
- CAM practitioners, so they may gain the knowledge and experience to conduct rigorous research in their field.
- Conventional medical researchers and practitioners, so they may increase their knowledge and experience in specific CAM research areas.
- Members of populations who are underrepresented in scientific research and are interested in careers in CAM research.
Types of Awards
Program announcements, formal documents published in the NIH Guide, describe each type of training opportunity. Announcements include details such as eligibility requirements, deadlines for application (receipt dates), application instructions, and review criteria.
Specific program announcements are listed on the Training and Career Development Opportunities page.
NCCAM Contacts
You may contact NCCAM program staff with your questions about types of training awards or the application process. We welcome the opportunity to clarify any issues for potential applicants.
