Clinical trials are research studies on humans that are designed to answer specific questions about vaccines or new therapies, to test new ways of using known treatments, or to find out more about a disorder. The National Institutes of Health has developed ClinicalTrials.gov to provide current information about clinical research studies. Before proceeding, you may want to learn more about clinical trials.

Find Studies Conducted by the NINDS at the NIH in Bethesda, Maryland

These studies welcome inquiries from patients as well as physicians. Studies include research on metabolic disorders, dementia/Alzheimer’s disease, neuromuscular disorders, movement disorders, speech and language disorders, autonomic disorders, brain injury, stroke, brain tumors, epilepsy/seizures and demyelinating disorders/multiple sclerosis. Qualified patients will receive free evaluation and treatment.

All studies sponsored by the National Institutes of Health, other federal agencies, and private industry.  Studies are conducted primarily in the United States and Canada, but include locations in about 90 countries.  Patients interested in participating in any of these studies should ask their physician to contact the individuals noted in the study description.

This site, maintained by the National Library of Medicine, contains approximately 9,100 clinical studies sponsored by the National Institutes of Health and other Federal and non-Federal entities. Studies listed in the database are conducted primarily in the United States and Canada, but include locations in about 90 countries.  Patients interested in participating in any of these studies should ask their physician to contact the individuals noted in the study description.

The NINDS extramural research program funds research at institutions located primarily in the United States and Canada, but including locations in about 90 countries.
