Learn About Serving on the NIH Director’s Council of Public Representatives When: December 11, 2006, 3:30 Where: Nationwide Institute: Office of the Director (OD) The Director of the NIH is seeking applicants to the Director's Council of Public Representatives (COPR). The COPR advises the NIH Director on cross-cutting related to medical research and health issues of public interest that ultimately promote individual, family, and community health. The COPR consists of up to 21 individuals selected from among the diverse communities that benefit from, and have an interest in, NIH research, programs, and activities.
A teleconference is being held to answer questions about the activities and efforts of the Council, the work load and time commitment of Council members, and the application and selection process. Current COPR members will participate in the call so that you can hear directly about their experience on the Council. The deadline for COPR applications is Friday, December 15. Those who register in advance and participate in this teleconference will receive a special extension until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20.
