H.R. 2642 — The Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Act, 2008

On June 11, 2007, Representative Chet Edwards (D-TX). introduced the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Act, 2008. H.R. 2642 was referred to the House Committee on Appropriations.

FLOOR ACTION

May 15, 2008 - The House package (as passed) was split into three distinct amendments.

May 22, 2008 - The Senate passed the non-war funding portion of the Fiscal Year 2008 war supplemental by vote of 75 to 22.

June 19, 2008 - The House passed H.R. 2642 with Amendment #1 (Iraq/Afghanistan defense spending) passing by a vote of  268-155.

June 19, 2008 - The House passed H.R. 2642 with Amendment #2 (domestic spending and legislative provisions) passing by a vote of 416-12.

PRESIDENTIAL ACTION

June 30, 2008 - The President signed H.R. 2642 into law as P.L. 110-252.
